We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to be based in Mumbai for one of our clients which is a US-based Global System Integrator.
Purpose of the role:
The Engineer’s responsibilities include schedule preparation and resource forecasting for engineering and other technical activities relating to the project. This person will have direct contact with customers and vendors. He/she ensure projects are completed according to project plans. The engineer will assist onboard and deliver solutions before transitioning to production operations, with responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Responsibilities:

Provides training and guidance to new and current staff, including material handlers and cablers.

Ensure that EDI, RBI and related build record and quality records are maintained and proper documentation is in use by production teams.

Leads, supports, and motivates peers and operational teams to reach performance and quality goals.

Assist internal teams to gauge technical level of effort for projects within the integration centers.
-
Develop technical project design to ensure successful execution of technical solutions per specifications and/or configuration instructions utilizing both industry and client’s best practices.

Drive global collaboration and program standardization.
-
Work closely with project teams during execution of proof of concepts.
-
Drive the project’s progress, from kick-off to final approval.

Provide consulting and support for the configuration of multiple vendor networking, wireless, and collaboration devices.

Serve as an escalation point for complex troubleshooting defective devices, logical issues, or systematic errors on a wide range of technologies.

Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfers and mentorship to peers.

Review and provide SME level expertise for customer Proof of Concepts (POC).

Communicate project status to both internal and external stakeholders on a continuous basis.

Help drives operational scaling with support of immediate supervisor

Ensure Lab inventory accuracy. [RB1]

Schedule work of material handlers and cablers

Drives appropriate level of expectations for the performance
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Technology and minimum 5-7 years’ experience in information technology field with at least 2 years specializing in supporting the integration of enterprise network and storage solutions or equivalent experience.

Background in ACL and Firewalls
-
Ability to design engineering drawings such as rack elevations and cable run list schematics, detailing all in-rack connections (Example: power, data networking and storage)

knowledge of industry standards and best practices for structured cabling systems using various cable types (cat 5e, cat 6, multi-mode and single-mode fiber, etc.)

knowledge of data center electrical requirements and conversions (i.e. Kilowatts, Amps, phases, UPS, etc.)
-
3+ years hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting issues on a Cisco network.

Solid understanding of current data center and network technologies that are commonly running as part of the IT infrastructure for Fortune 500 companies.

Participate in project meetings with other members of the team, including during weekends and after hours.

Provide quality documentation and logging case for DOA/RMA with multi-vendor.

Verbal and written communication skill to effectively convey technical information to non-technical audiences; ability to develop and maintain detailed documentation.

Upgrading of software across multiple vendors

Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential with the ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
